The smallest light on the register. Equal light and dark, marking the starboard side of the harbour entrance.
Hallow Pier is nine metres of cast iron at the seaward end of a stone breakwater, and it does one thing. Green, isophase, four seconds: two seconds lit, two seconds dark, without variation. Entering the harbour it is left to starboard. That is the entire content of the signal and there is nothing else to know.
It is included in the register at full status despite its size because a harbour light that fails is more dangerous than an offshore light that fails. A vessel that has lost the offshore marks stands off and waits for daylight. A vessel already committed to a harbour entrance in weather has nowhere to wait.
